************************* Driver charged in police pursuit

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The lone male occupant and driver of a 2006 Chrysler vehicle that was involved in a police pursuit earlier today has been charged with numerous offences.

Upon arrest 56 grams of a substance believed to be cocaine with a street value of $5,600 was seized.

A small quantity of a substance believed to be marijuana was also seized. Twenty-six-year-old Joey Raymond of 50 Detta Rd, Balmertown, Ontario, has been charged with the following:

- Three counts of dangerous driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

- Three counts of flight from police contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

- One count of mischief under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

- Two counts of fail to remain: Highway Traffic Act of Ontario

- One count of stunt driving

- One count of possession of a controlled drug and substance for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

- One count of possession of a controlled drug and substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act. The accused is being held in custody pending a bail hearing tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. in Sault Ste. Marie Provincial Court.
