Unifor Local 1359 welcomes 52 Eacom employees

The union will meet with the employer in the coming months to negotiate a collective agreement

Unifor Local 1359 is happy to announce that over 52 employees from Eacom Timber Corporation have decided to join Unifor Local 1359.

On Wednesday, May 2, 2018 the Ontario Labour Relations Board conducted a secret ballot vote at the workplace where the employees sent the employer a clear message that they wanted to join a union and to be represented by Unifor Local 1359.

"We attempted this last year and were unsuccessful, but second time was the charm," said Laurie Lessard-Brown, president of Unifor Local 1359.

Unifor Local 1359 welcomes this group into their family and we look forward to sitting down with our member and listening to their issues.

We look forward to meeting with the employer in the coming months to negotiate a collective agreement that can be ratified by the membership.
