Toronto woman wins $20 million Lotto Super Jackpot

TORONTO, July 28 - This is likely one day Lydia Nono will not soon forget, as she has now joined the ranks of multi-millionaires.

Lydia Nono, 49 years-old, is an unemployed factory worker who will never have to worry about finding employment again!

She has been playing Lotto Super 7 for 20 years and it finally paid off when she won $20 million.

"That's a million dollars for every year of play," said one of Nono's daughters who accompanied her mother to the OLG Toronto Prize Centre in Toronto when she claimed her Lotto Super 7 Jackpot win of $20 million from the July 24 draw date.

When asked how she found out about the win, Nono stated she was at a friend's house and had phoned her son for the winning numbers.

"When he started to tell me the numbers, I was happy to get three numbers out of seven, by the forth number, I started to jump...I haven't stop jumping since. It just doesn't feel real to me," she told OLG Prize Centre staff.

Nono has three adult children and with her windfall she intends to travel, share with family and save the remainder for now.

The winning ticket was purchased at Wickets Tickets at Finch Subway station on Yonge Street in Toronto.

OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities.

Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots and resort casinos have generated more than $23 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario.

Gaming proceeds support Ontario's hospitals, amateur sport, recreational and cultural activities, communities, provincial priority programs such as health care and education, and local and provincial charities and non-profit organizations through the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
