Two new deaths reported by Algoma Public Health in latest COVID update

Algoma Public Health is reporting two new deaths as part of its latest COVID-19 update Thursday afternoon.

The deaths bring the total number during the pandemic to 26.

The number of hospitalizations stand at 18, down by three from Wednesday's update.

Thursday's report includes one additional hospitalization that is a non-Algoma resident temporarily in the region.

There are currently 595 active COVID-19 cases in the region, which is down by 12 from Wednesday's update and the number of resolved cases in Algoma rose by 53 to 2,966.

APH confirmed 41 new cases in the region on Thursday and 562 tests were completed since Wednesday's update.
