**************************** Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service executed a search warrant at a residence on Wellington St. E. regarding counterfeit money.
As a result of the search warrant two males were arrested and charged with various offences.
It is alleged that on November 17 the two accused males were in possession and uttered counterfeit United States $5, $20 and $100 bills.
During the search of the residence the officers located instruments for making counterfeit money, a 32 caliber handgun, ammunition for the handgun and property obtained by crime.
At the time of these offences both accused were on probation and were prohibited from possessing any firearms or ammunition.
Henry Cadreau, age 29, of 61 Wellington St. E. Apt # 2 and Shawn Mearow, age 30, of 2643 Mission Rd, Goulais River are charged with possession of a weapon obtained by crime, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession contrary to an order, two counts of careless storage, uttering counterfeit money, possession of instruments for making counterfeit money and possession of property obtained by crime.
