City Police advise SooToday.com that the transport driver had to be extracted from his vehicle.

He was taken to Sault Area Hospital.

The extent of his injuries was not immediately known. ************************* 7:10 a.m. update

One lane is now open to traffic.

Please use caution when approaching the scene.

Officers are directing traffic which is slow and backed up.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service reports that the Highway 17 East intersection at Trunk Road and the entrance to the four-lane bypass is closed to all traffic in both directions due to a transport rollover.

More information is to follow once an update is received.
