October's airport traffic report shows another increase over last year's number and September's.

Porter's return to the Sault stimulated the rise in traffic, said Terry Bos, Sault Ste. Marie Airport Development Corporation President & CEO.

“It was nice to see the increase in traffic in October as stimulated by the return of Porter service to the market."

While numbers are still 54 per cent below pre-pandemic traffic, airlines are continuing to assess their schedules as traveler's return.

Porter currently has 11 flights leaving from Sault Ste. Marie weekly, Bearskin has 30 flights a week.

Air Canada provides three flights daily.

"At this time, it will be the market that will dictate if more flights are added or reduced," said Bos.
