Loyal SooToday.com reader Amanda Farquhar reports traffic across the International Bridge connecting the twin Saults has come to a standstill.

She called us from her car as she waited in a line on the United States side.

Farquhar said the line stretches from the toll booths back in all directions for as far as she's ever seen the lines go.

"They're lined up all the way to Lake State (Lake Superior State University) from where I am," she said. "People are out of their vehicles and walking around. Nothing is moving."

Farquhar said that news has travelled up the line saying there is a vehicle experiencing mechanical difficulties and stuck across both lanes on the bridge.

Traffic will not be able to pass in either direction until it is cleared.
