Public invited to tour West End Community Centre March 9
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - The City of Sault Ste. Marie is pleased to announce that the construction of the West End Community Centre (WECC) is nearing completion.
On Friday, March 9 from 5-9 p.m., the general public is invited to view the Sault’s newest sporting facility [shown] and see the Stanley Cup trophy.
The WECC, located next to the McMeeken Centre arena at 556 Goulais Avenue, consists of two indoor soccer pitches and a public library.
Although the library will not be completed for another six to eight weeks, the indoor turf facility is ready for use.
The Stanley Cup, Canada’s oldest and most famous sports trophy will be on display during the March 9 WECC tour.
The Scotiabank “Celebration of Hockey” program is making an appearance with the Stanley Cup, in conjunction with the 2012 Budweiser CARHA Hockey World Cup taking place in Sault Ste. Marie March 5-10.
