EAST FIRE REGION SITUATION UPDATE

************************* One new fire in the last 24 hours
Ontario FireRangers and related personnel deployed to Alberta
There are currently no active fires in the East Fire Region.
North Bay 3, a 0.1 hectare fire, was called in yesterday and is now out.
One hundred and sixty-nine Ontario FireRangers and related personnel were deployed to Alberta on July 2 to assist with forest fire fighting efforts.
Of that contingent, 25 FireRanger crews and 10 overhead personnel are from bases in the East Fire Region.
The forest fire hazard is low to moderate across most of the East Fire Region.
Always use caution with all outdoor fires and follow safe burning guidelines.
Under the Forest Fires Prevention Act of Ontario day burning of brush or grass is not allowed.
Burning of grass or brush may be done no sooner than two hours before sunset and it must be put it out no later than two hours after sunrise.
Choose a safe site, keep your fire small and never leave it unattended.
Remember to ensure the fire is put dead out before leaving the site.
