************************* Recreational lock closed

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON - (September 24) - Parks Canada Agency and the City of Sault Ste. Marie regret to announce that the recreational lock at the Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site of Canada is temporarily closed as a result of an operation failure linked to a thunderstorm last Saturday.

Parks Canada and its technical advisors are working to correct the problem and an update will be issued as soon as the operation of the lock can be resumed.
