Five local students received awards for their anti-drug poster designs at the provincial level sponsored by the Elks/Royal Purple.

Wayne Sherlock, Ontario Provincial Elks past president presented the awards to Riley McBride, first place, Grade 1, primary division; Emily Duchesne, first place, Grade 6, junior division; Britney Dixon, second place, Grade 7, intermediate division (all from the Cornerstone Christian Elementary School) and Konner Ritchie, third place, Grade 4, junior division; and Zoey Mantovan, third place, Grade 7, intermediate division (both from East View Public School).

All five students had won locally in the top three divisions so their work was sent to the provincial level.
