Three states now backing Enbridge Line 5 lawsuit

MLive.com is reporting that attorneys general for Wisconsin, Minnesota and California have all filed friends-of-the-court briefs backing Michigan attorney general Dana Nessel's lawsuit to decommission the Enbridge Line 5 pipeline running through the Straits of Mackinac. 

That lawsuit was also backed by Bay Mills Indian Community earlier this year. 

Earlier this month, SooToday reported that a number of environmental groups penned a letter to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, requesting that she use her authority to protect the Great Lakes by shutting down the flow of oil through the Straits of Mackinac during the winter months, and in the event of excessive wind and waves along the straits.
