Three Queen Street collisions reported

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded today to three separate motor vehicle collisions that resulted in injuries.

At approximately 10:55 a.m. a collision was reported at the intersection of Queen and Brock Streets. 

A vehicle travelling westbound made a left turn and collided with a pedestrian walking in the crosswalk. 

Injuries to the pedestrian were described as minor. 

81-year-old Clair Nott of Ferguson Avenue was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with failing to yield to pedestrian.

A motor vehicle collision was reported at 2:00 p.m. at the intersection Queen and Gore Streets. 

No injuries were reported but the damage to one of the vehicles was moderate. 

18-year-old Ashley Culina of Second Line West was charged with failing to stop for a red light under the Highway Traffic Act.

A third collision was reported at 2:19 p.m. at the intersection of Queen St. E. and Simpson Streets.

Three persons were transported to hospital with minor injuries. 

A southbound vehicle on Simpson Street travelled into the path of a westbound vehicle on Queen Street East. 

38-year-old Shirley Yolkowskie of Elliot Lake was charged with fail to yield to traffic on through highway under the Highway Traffic Act.
