OPP NEWS RELEASE

************************** Collisions reported around the northeast (North East Region) - No highways have been closed in the Region, however OPP are responding to numerous collisions/ vehicles in the ditch around the region since approximately 7 a.m. this morning.

No injuries have been reported in relation to any of the collisions.

Currently there is:

- a collision involving a tractor-trailer at Old Woman Bay, Highway 17 south of Wawa

- a vehicle in the ditch between Verner and Warren, Highway 17

- a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 11 Cobalt

- a tractor trailer in the ditch Highway 533, approx 17 kilometres south of Highway 63

- a vehicle in the ditch at Highway 11, South Himsworth/Trout Creek

- a vehicle in the ditch, Monteith Road, Monteith

It is believed that at least some of the collisions are related to weather conditions.

OPP are reminding motorists to take extra time to get to their destination and to drive according to the road/weather conditions.

When reporting a collision from a cell phone, motorists may dial *OPP.
