There were 15 values protection personnel and 28 Fire Rangers dispatched to British Columbia yesterday.

Ontario had over 600 fire personnel assisting with the forest fire situation in B.C. by the end of the day.

The 122 fire personnel that left on Friday have all received briefings and been deployed into the field.

The fire situation remains quiet for the East Fire Region, there were no new fires reported for Sunday August 9.

Currently there are no active fires in the region.

The majority of the East Fire Region is forecasted to have a low fire hazard, except for a portion of the far north which will be moderate.

As a reminder, brush and grass fires are to be started no sooner than two hours before sunset and put out no later than two hours after sunrise.

Outdoor fires must be attended at all times and put dead out before leaving the site.
