Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 47-year-old Theresa Clarke of 513 Sherbourne Street and charged her with one count of obstructing a peace officer.

It is alleged that on the 24th of November at 10:37 a.m., officers attended in the area of the accused female’s residence and were in the process of towing her vehicle that was illegally parked in front of a public lane beside her residence [situation not exactly as illustrated], when the accused became irate and attempted to prevent them from doing so by continuously swearing obscenities at them, pushing one of the officers, not following their requests and resisting arrest.

The accused was subsequently arrested for obstructing police and is to appear in court on the 10th of January.

************************* Shoplifting arrests

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 42-year-old Rodney Morrow of (upstairs) 652 Queen Street West on the 24th of November at 6:50 p.m. at Food Basics on Pine Street and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that he attended at the store last night and stole a meat roast. He was apprehended by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 10th of January.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 21-year-old Daniel Vienneau of no fixed address at 4:50 p.m. yesterday at Canadian Tire and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that he attended at the store and stole a tool kit. He was apprehended by store security and held for police.

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested at 6:20 p.m. yesterday at the Station Mall and charged with one count of mischief under $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of resisting a peace officer. It is alleged that the accused was arrested by mall security officers for trespassing at the mall and at the time of his arrest he resisted them and damaged a wall. The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service attended and took the male into custody. At the time of his arrest, he was [allegedly] found in possession of some stolen clothing. He is to appear in court on the 4th of January.

************************* Mischief

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20-year-old Dustin McDonald of 22 Ashgrove Avenue and charged him with one count of mischief. It is alleged that on the 24th of November at approximately 9:20 p.m., the accused attended at a residence on Hawthorne Avenue and damaged a window, an exterior and an interior door. He is to appear in court on the 10th of January. *************************
