It looks like fall report cards are on their way out for Ontario's elementary schools.
Media stories in Toronto today indicate that academic performance during the early months will be reflected in the future through progress reports or some other kind of evaluation.
Teachers' unions have lobbied to scrap fall report cards, claiming they come too early in the school year to provide meaningful assessments.
A formal announcement about report cards, and possibly related changes, is expected early in the new year.
