Learn to ski/ride for $9.95 at Searchmont Resort from 6 to 8 p.m. Price includes Learning Centre lift ticket, ski or snowboard rentals, and group instruction. For more information, call (705) 781-2340.

Family Life Theatre presents The Prisoner of Second Avenue, its QUONTA Drama Festival entry. Show takes place at the Verdi Hall, 455 Queen St. W. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The show begins at 8 p.m. Contact (705) 253-9851 for more information.

Galaxy Cinemas presents an encore screening of the Metropolitan Opera: Live in HD featuring Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at 1 p.m. Tickets available at the Galaxy Cinema Box Office.

6th Annual O-500 Outhouse Race begins at 5 p.m. on Portage Ave. in Sault Michigan. Registration packets and construction guidelines are available at the Downtown Development Authority Office at 105 Arlington St. or call Lee at (906) 635-6973. The "Big Stinker" trophy is awarded to the best theme outhouse.

The Irish Dinner Dance hosted by the North Shore Agricultural Society at 6:30 p.m. at the Echo Bay Elks Lodge, features a traditional Irish dinner, including Irish stew, lamb, soda bread and potato soup. Post-dinner entertainment will be provided by AlgomaTrad students and the Schryer/O'Gorman/Lefebvre family. Admission to the dinner/dance is $20 per person or $35 per couple.
