Nineteen-year-old Kevin Robinson of 53 Copernicus Drive in Sault Ste. Marie is facing multiple criminal charges after a citizen arrested him on Birchwood Street.

Yesterday, police received a call that a male has been seen going through vehicles on Carlbert Street.

A short time later, they were advised that a man had been seen going into a garage on Birchwood Street and was being held by a citizen.

When officers arrived at the scene, the man fled on foot but was apprehended after a foot chase. Police say they then found a stolen mini-flashlight in Robinson's possession, as well as other items that had been taken from Carlbert Street.

Back on Birchwood Street, police found that someone had taken a chain saw, a four-wheeler helmet and a 12-pack of beer, and had attempted to to steal a four-wheeler, pouring gasoline into it but not succeeding in getting it started. At police headquarters, the suspect allegedly used a false name to identify himself.

Robinson is charged with charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property (two counts), obstructing police, breach of bail by failing to attend court and three counts of breach of probation.

He's due in bail court on Monday.
