SooToday.com has received the following letter from loyal reader Laura Liddiard. She is Seth's mom.
Our son, Seth was born with a bowel obstruction, and suffered from difficult complications of surgery.
Those complications kept him in hospitals in London and Toronto for the first 10 months of his life.
During this time, there has been no shortage of support from home for us.
Friends and family have reached out in so many ways to help us.
We would like to thank the many people who contributed to and attended our benefit at the Riuniti on July 5.
It was an incredible experience to feel the support of so many people, and to realize how our story has touched the lives of others.
We are deeply grateful for the hard work of our dear friend, Barbie Blair.
She, and many others dedicated countless hours, in the midst of busy lives, to put this benefit on for us.
She has been a constant friend to me throughout this journey, calling often for updates and to lend an ear.
In spite of the difficulties of the last year, we consider ourselves very lucky, as a family.
It is an incredible thing to feel this kind of community support.
Many thanks, from the Liddiard family.
Sincerely,
Laura Liddiard
