Tertia ahead, by a nose

St. Basil alumna Tertia Lamb is still ahead in the Guess Faces to Watch Peoples' Choice Award, but only by a nose. Through Thursday and early this morning, Tertia was getting her buttage kicked as the national modelling contest entered its final hours. At 2 p.m. yesterday, challenger Katharyn Wilks was more than 1,400 votes behind Sault Ste. Marie's favourite candidate.

But Wilks, a 21-year-old nursing student at Fleming College in Peterborough Ontario, chalked up votes through most of yesterday at twice the rate as Tertia.

She surged past Lamb, an alumni of St. Basil Secondary School, at 11:43 p.m.

Then, in the early hours of this morning, Lamb recovered the top spot with help from SooToday.com readers.
