************************* Algoma District School Board and District 2 OSSTF secondary teachers reach tentative new four-year agreement

The Algoma District School Board (ADSB) and Ontario Secondary Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) District 2 Ontario Secondary Teachers’ employees have reached a tentative four-year agreement to cover the period from September 1, 2008 to August 31, 2012.

While both parties believe this agreement is in accordance with provincial discussion table, both parties have agreed to jointly submit the contract terms to the ministry to ensure compliance with the provincial discussion table parameters.

“Achieving a four-year collective agreement will further improve the relationship with the secondary teachers. We value the contribution that this employee group makes in providing a challenging and positive learning environment that builds on a quality education system,” said ADSB Chair Wanda McQueen. “We thank both negotiation teams for their efforts in achieving this collective agreement.”
