Workers at Tenaris Algoma Tubes heard from their union executive last night about a company-proposed work-sharing plan.
They're being asked to accept a one-day cut in their five-day work week, in exchange for $89 in Employment Insurance benefits.
Workers started voting on the work-sharing proposal last night.
Others will be voting today.
Union officials have not been advised by the company whether any management will participate in the proposed work-sharing.
