Tenaris workers vote on work-sharing proposal

Workers at Tenaris Algoma Tubes heard from their union executive last night about a company-proposed work-sharing plan. They're being asked to accept a one-day cut in their five-day work week, in exchange for $89 in Employment Insurance benefits.

Workers at Tenaris Algoma Tubes heard from their union executive last night about a company-proposed work-sharing plan.

They're being asked to accept a one-day cut in their five-day work week, in exchange for $89 in Employment Insurance benefits.

Workers started voting on the work-sharing proposal last night.

Others will be voting today.

Union officials have not been advised by the company whether any management will participate in the proposed work-sharing.
