Negotiations between representatives of Tenaris Algoma Tubes and United Steelworkers Local 9548 broke off around 2 o'clock this morning.
Union spokesperson Todd Frayn told us both sides are reviewing their positions as efforts continue to secure a new contract.
Talks will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 25, at Algoma's Water Tower Inn.
The current collective agreement expires at midnight on May 31.
Salaried personnel at Tenaris have already agreed to a work-sharing plan that reduces work weeks from 40 to 32 hours.
