************************* Culprits charged in numerous break-ins

SPANISH, ON - (September 12) - East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police as a result of an ongoing investigation into criminal activity in Spanish have charged two young persons with multiple charges of break and enter.

Some old fashioned leg work on behalf of the investigators and the criminal investigation unit of the East Algoma OPP has resulted in two suspects being arrested in conjunction with the crimes.

The investigation led to two 17-year-old males being charged with the following:

- One youth will face seven counts of breaking and entering.

- The other will face eight counts of breaking and entering.

Other charges laid include failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking and possession of a controlled substance.

The investigation is ongoing and further criminal charges are pending.

The youths targeted local Spanish businesses and municipal properties.

The incidents date back to February of 2008 with most taking place in August and September of this year.

Both are to appear in court in Blind River on the November 3, 2008.
