Teen accused of assault at coffee shop

************************* One charged with assault

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - The East Algoma OPP has concluded their investigation regarding a possible assault.

On February 20, 2010, at approximately 11:48 p.m., police received a call to attend the local hospital regarding an assault.

Through investigation police learned that the victim had been at a local coffee shop when she was approached by the subject.

The subject then allegedly assaulted the victim.

Charged with assault is Chantal Ouellette (18) of Elliot Lake.

Ouellette is scheduled to appear in Elliot Lake court on April 6, 2010.

************************* Still under investigation

ELLIOT LAKE, ON - The East Algoma OPP is currently investigating a theft at a local grocery store in Elliot Lake.

On February 27, 2010, at 6:04 p.m., police were called to attend 151 Ontario Avenue.

On scene police learned that the subject had attended the store and attempted to leave the area without paying for items.

When confronted by a store employee the subject fled the scene.

Police are currently reviewing video to ascertain the identity of the subject.
