************************* Hello SooToday.com:

On Sunday we were walking our dog through the trails near Algoma University.

We saw a beautiful bird that we had never seen before.

Not being a "bird watcher" I used the Internet in hopes of identifying it.

We found out it was a Scarlet Tanager.

This bird is primarily a native of Missouri, Mississippi and various other U.S. States.

There have been sightings in British Columbia and some other areas of Canada.

I posted on SooToday.com's News Response forum on Sunday asking if this bird is common to see in the Sault area.

Fellow poster Jalapeno answered that the Sault was in this bird's summer migration area.

I was disappointed that I did not bring my camera that day.

We returned today, this time I was armed with my camera, but had doubts I would be so lucky again.

Well, luck was with me.

We spotted it in the same area and it had a mate with him.

I have attached some photos.

I hope you all enjoy this beautiful bird.
