The 2021 Sylvan Circle Tour has been cancelled.

The announcement was made Saturday morning.

"At this time last year, we fully expected to be able to hold the twentieth anniversary of the Sylvan Circle Tour in 2021," a statement supplied by event chair David Solomon said. "We had delayed the application period in the hope that we could see conditions that gave us assurance of holding a safe and successful in-person tour. Regretfully, at this time, that there are many factors which will not allow us to do so."

Organizers are hopeful that the event will return in 2022, adding that the decision to cancel in 2021 was "the only reasonable and responsible decision."

"We understand the negative financial impact that cancelling the tour will have, not only on local artists and artisans, but also on retail locations along the route that benefit from the tour," the statement continued. "However, we believe that this is the only reasonable and responsible decision. We fully expect to be able to plan, organize, and host a highly anticipated & successful tour in 2022."

The 2021 Sylvan Circle Tour was to be held in September.
