************************* Consumers cautioned to inspect powdered infant formula cans

OTTAWA, February 9, 2007 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Mead Johnson Nutritionals are advising the public that some cans of Mead Johnson powdered infant formula found at a single Zellers store in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan have been tampered with.

A total of two suspect cans have been reported at that store.

The cans were found to have puncture holes which were concealed by the label.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.

Consumers using powdered infant formula products should look under the label to inspect the cans for signs of tampering. CFIA is conducting an investigation of the suspected tampering and the case is being referred to the police.
