Suspect tries to pass off fake $100 U.S. bill at Station Mall

Suspect fled when staff attempted to have the bill verified

Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service are requesting your assistance in identifying a suspect who is passing counterfeit money.

On Feb. 2, 2019, an unknown male attempted to use a counterfeit $100 U.S. bill to purchase tickets while in the Station Mall.

The recipient of the $100 bill suspected it was counterfeit and proceeded towards the bank to verify the currency. The unknown male separated from the recipient and fled the mall.

If you can identify this person and your tip leads to an arrest you may be eligible for a cash reward.
