Suspect arrested after break-in at auto wrecker

************************* Twenty-three-year-old Christopher Rowatt of 4246B of Highway 17 East was arrested on May 12 at 11:15 p.m. on Case Road and charged with break, enter and commit and one count of trespassing at night.

It is alleged that around 10:40 p.m. yesterday, City Police received a call regarding a pickup truck with a trailer attached inside the King's Salvage and Auto Compound on Case Road and that persons were loading metal and auto parts onto it.

When police arrived in the area of the compound, the three males fled on foot.

One of the males, the accused, was quickly located and apprehended by officers with assistance from the canine unit.

The other males were not located and the investigation is continuing.

************************* Female accused of assault with a weapon

21-year-old Tina Waboose of 23 Edinburgh Street was arrested on the 12th of May at 2:35 p.m. at her residence and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of assault.

It is alleged that on the 9th and 11th of May, the accused attended at the residence of a female known to her and assaulted her.

During one of the incidents, the accused [allegedly] threw an ashtray at the victim causing non-life-threatening injuries to her.

The accused is to appear in court on the 14th of June.
