The man who murdered Sault Ste. Marie's Sarah Positano has lost his appeal to the United States Supreme Court.

James Earl Trimble was convicted in 2005 on three counts of aggravated murder following the deaths of his live-in girlfriend, her 7-year-old son and Positano, then a 22-year-old student attending Kent State University in Ohio.

Trimble is now on death row in that state.
