SUDBURY - Local NDP Incumbents Claude Gravelle (Nickel Belt) and Glenn Thibeault (Sudbury) have an important question for the Liberal leader.

“Where were you Mr. Ignatieff when Steelworkers were on strike for almost a year,” asked Gravelle, a former employee at Inco for 34 years. “New Democrats have stood in solidarity with, and fought for, the rights of our workers, day in day out.”

“Liberals have voted against anti-scab legislation, and have never rejected a single foreign takeover,” said Thibeault. “Is it any wonder that voters don’t trust the Liberal Party?”

“The fact that Mr. Ignatieff will only hold an open event when he needs votes isn’t lost on the citizens of Nickel Belt and Sudbury,” concluded Gravelle and Thibeault. “Jack Layton has been to our area time and again to meet with residents, election time or not.”
