Upper Peninsula Congressman Bart Stupak will announce today that he's retiring from Congress, CNN, the Washington Post and Fox News are reporting this morning.
Pundits are predicting that the previously unassailable pro-life Democrat's district will now be taken by the Republicans.
The following statement was released by Stupak's office at 9:21 a.m.

To be joined by family, local officials and community leaders WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI) – joined by family, local officials and community leaders, including leaders in law enforcement and education – will hold a press conference today, April 9, at 12:30 p.m. (EST) at Superior Dome, home to the United States Olympic Education Center (USOEC) on the campus of Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan.
The USOEC is one of four Olympic training centers in the country and the only one located on a university campus.
It provides secondary and post-secondary educational opportunities for athletes while offering world-class training.
With the leadership of Congressman Bart Stupak, the student athletes are eligible for scholarships to cover expenses while studying and training for the Olympic team.
