Studio Dance Arts congratulates company dancers for a great 10th anniversary competitive season so far

SAULT STE. MARIE - The entire Studio Dance Arts competitive company of 125 dancers participated in two major competitions over the past month and took away many top awards and accolades.

Terpsichore took place in Sault Ste. Marie in mid-April and In10sity was held in Detroit earlier this month.

SDA’s competitive company dancers hail from both the Sault Ste. Marie and Elliot Lake Studio’s.

They had entries in solo, duo/trio and group categories in various dance styles that include ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap and hiphop.

In10sity Detroit had more than 700 entries in the competition with 16 participating studios from across the region.

SDA took home several top awards including Top Senior Score and the second overall Top Studio from all those entered into competition.

SDA offers a half-time competitive program as well as a highly comprehensive full-time program.

Currently they are the only school in the Algoma district that enters all of its full-time levels (mini, junior, inter and senior) at the elite level of competition.

Together, they have one more regional competition this season, which is the Showstopper in Chicago May 24-26 and the full-time company will head to the Showstopper National Finals event in Myrtle Beach July 1-6.

Studio Dance Arts is proudly celebrating 10 years of dance this season.

To mark this milestone anniversary they will be hosting a gala event June 15-16 at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre.

This spectacular event will feature all of SDA’s recreational and competitive dancers, with performances by Elliot Lake’s Company and special appearances by SDA alumni.
