Sault Ste. Marie to host a streetsurfing and kitewing riding demonstration
Sault Ste. Marie will be a playground for sports lovers and kids of all ages this September as the city will be invaded by the latest trends in street sports.
Streetsurfing, kitewing riding will be introduced as Canadian pros demonstrate their skills and guide bystanders who want to try the hottest sports in the country.
Invented in California and getting more and more fans throughout America and Europe, streetsurfing is a mix of snowboarding and skateboarding.
It is now available to Ontarians and Sault Ste. Marie is the first city to host such an event.
Kitewing riding is a mix of kite surfing and wind surfing.
The wing shaped kite can be used to ride any boards such as skis, snowboards, adapted skateboards, longboards and many more.
What: Professional streetsurfing and kite wing riding demonstration and free riding
When: Saturday, September 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
11 a.m. - Professional streetsurfer demonstration and free riding 12 p.m. - Professional kitewing demonstration and free riding 1 p.m. - Open to the public: Streetsurfing demonstration and free riding
