Stopping at a green light = impaired charge

CITY POLICE NEWS RELEASE **************************** 49-year-old Randall Albert Smith of 142 Albert Street East was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at 11:24 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East in relation to impaired driving.

**************************** 49-year-old Randall Albert Smith of 142 Albert Street East was arrested on the 18th of November 2011 at 11:24 p.m. in the 1200 block of Wellington Street East in relation to impaired driving.

It is alleged that the accused was observed by police stopped at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Pine Street at a green light.

Further investigation revealed the accused to be under the influence of alcohol.

The accused failed a roadside screening device and was subsequently arrested and charged with “impaired operation of a motor vehicle”.

He is compelled to attend court on the 19th of December 2011 at 9:00 a.m.
