Health Canada has been advised by Colgate-Palmolive that there have been nine incident reports in Canada associated with the use of their "Colgate Motion Electric Toothbrush" device.

The incident reports submitted to the company by Canadians described that their toothbrushes had "exploded".

According to the company, none of these reports resulted in long-term injuries.

Health Canada recommends that Canadians do not use the Colgate Motion Electric Toothbrush.

It is also important to note that Colgate-Palmolive is no longer manufacturing this electric toothbrush, but it may still be in stores across Canada until the recall has been completed.

The toothbrush is no longer licensed for sale in Canada.

The Colgate Motion Electric Toothbrush is a battery-operated electric toothbrush.

The head of the unit contains both a rotating brush as well as a stationary brush.
