NEWS RELEASE

************************ Forty-four-year-old James Laplante of #1-151 Gore Street was arrested on the 16th of December at 2:50 p.m. on Maple Street and charged with one count of operating a motor vehicle while disqualified, one count of impaired driving and one count of consuming over the legal limit.

It is alleged that around 2:49 p.m. yesterday, City Police received information regarding a possible impaired driver in the area of Maple Street.

When officers arrived in the area, they observed a Dodge pickup truck that was stuck in the snow bank at the end of a driveway on Maple Street and the driver was attempting to drive the vehicle out.

When officers checked on the driver, the accused, they found him to be under the influence of alcohol.

Officers further discovered that he was disqualified from driving.

The accused is to attend court on the 26th of January, 2009.
