Border patrol agencies will be available to answers questions at an information session on cross-border boating next month.

Canada Border Services Agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will be present to address questions about customs reporting requirements for recreational cross-border boaters that launch from both Canada and the United States.

The U.S. Coast Guard will also be in attendance to speak about boating safety.

“The information session is to make sure boater's days out on the water go smoothly and to avoid potential fines or unnecessary delays for not having proper safety equipment and customs related issues. It’s about acknowledging we have a border on the water and understanding the reporting requirements for each country,” said club president Shane Turcotte.

SooToday recently reported on cross-border regulations however some readers may still be confused.

The event will be at 7:00 p.m. on May 16 in the second floor media room of Superior Heights Collegiate & Vocational School.
