CRIME STOPPERS

*************************

Break and enter is one of the most common and serious property offences in Canada today.

Break and enter can have many negative consequences for victims, both financially and psychologically.

Victims of break and enter can be left with not only the loss of valuable possessions but also the loss of a sense of safety and security.

The Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a break-in to a seasonal residence on Highway 552 West near Island Road in Goulais River.

Sometime between May 17-20 2013 suspects entered a side window that had been reinforced with security steel bars.

The bars were 10 inches apart and suspects managed to squeeze through the bars, enter the residence and remove several custom made hunting items that were displayed from a cathedral ceiling.

A Black Hawk Titan compound hunting bow made of green tiger stripe wood with a yellow scope was stolen.

A .50 caliber Hawkins Musket firearm was stolen along with a custom made gun case.

The case was light tan in color, made of soft leather with decorative engraving and long fringes.

This case holds particular sentimental value as it was made especially for the victim by his spouse before she passed away of a terminal illness.
