Statement on domestic-related impaired driving case

************************* A 27-year-old male was arrested on the 5th of September at 2:32 a.m. on the 5th of September on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of theft over $5,000, one count of possession of stolen property, one count of impaired driving, one count of consume over the legal limit, one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and four counts of breach of probation.

It is alleged that the accused stole a Honda minivan from a business on Great Northern Road around 2:06 a.m. on the 5th of September and drove to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and got into a dispute with her.

At the time of the incident, the accused was intoxicated and on probation conditions that he not attended at her residence, communicate, molest, harass or physically interfere with her.

The accused left prior to police arrival but was quickly located driving the van on Northern Avenue.

At the time of his arrest he was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana.

************************* On the 6th of September at 2:15 p.m., City Police attended at a downtown residence for a complaint of a domestic-related incident and discovered a female had been assaulted and threatened by her boyfriend while he was at her residence.

The accused also allegedly threatened to burn her property.

Officers investigating the incident discovered that the accused had assaulted the same victim in June as well, causing non-life threatening injuries to her that required medical attention.

As a result, the 21-year-old male was charged with two counts of threaten death or bodily harm, one count of threaten damage to property, one count of mischief and one count of assault causing bodily harm.

The accused was also wanted on outstanding warrants in relation to failing to appear court for drug possession charges.

************************* A 14 year-old female was arrested on the 7th of September at 9:30 a.m. at her residence and charged with one count of threaten death or bodily harm.

It is alleged that on the 6th of September she threatened to kill a female that was known to her. **************************
