HURON-SUPERIOR CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD

********************** Former principal charged following police investigation

The Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board learned today that a former elementary school principal has been charged with one count of fraud under $5,000.

This follows an investigation that was initiated by the board in May and turned over to the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service this past summer.

Bernice Glew formally retired in June 2006 as principal of Our Lady of Lourdes School.

"This matter will be before the courts and we cannot comment further," says John Stadnyk, director of education.
