NEWS RELEASE

BATCHEWANA FIRST NATION OF OJIBWAYS

************************* Gargantua Harbour

Batchewana First Nation will once again be gathering at Gargantua Harbour to finish opening the access to our traditional village.

This access has been here as long as our people can recall and we will not stop using this access.

Batchewana First Nation members will therefore congregate at the Gargantua Harbour site on Saturday, September 29 at 10 a.m. with equipment and material to install culverts.

If this work is not able to be completed on Saturday, we will be meeting again on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at 9 a.m.

Everyone who is sympathetic to our cause is welcome to attend.

Please come prepared to work and remember that we are fighting for our inherent rights.

Batchewana First Nation Chief and Council has made a commitment to endorsing a peaceful event.

Violence and aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.

The only spokesperson for this event is the chief or a council designate.

Please make every attempt to support your nation.
