NEWS RELEASE

*************************
St. Vincent Place is currently planning for its annual Big Blue Box Food Drive, and we’re looking for volunteers. The drive takes place on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. until roughly 3 p.m.

We are in need of volunteer drivers with vehicles to drive the specified routes collecting donations, as well as runners to travel with the drivers. We’re also looking for individuals to sort the donations once they arrive at our food bank.

This is a great way to help those in need in our community, and for high school students to collect some volunteer hours.

Interested volunteers can contact Sara at [email protected], or call 705-253-2770 ext. 4. You can also find St. Vincent Place on Facebook (@StVincentPlace) and send Sara a message there.

What is our Big Blue Box Food Drive?

The event is a one-day push to help fill our food bank for the start of winter, and it makes donating easy. Residents can simply fill any box with non-perishable goods and put it out to their curb by 10 a.m. on Sept. 29, then our volunteers come collect the donations.

Additionally, residents can drop off donations throughout September at the Sault YMCA, which has generously partnered with St. Vincent Place to collect canned goods.
