Special weather statement issued for North Algoma

Environment Canada has issued the special weather statement below for Wawa - White River - Pukaskwa- Hearst - Chapleau - Gogama. The statement also applies to Kapuskasing, as well Superior North, Superior West and centres in Northwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued the special weather statement below for Wawa - White River - Pukaskwa- Hearst - Chapleau - Gogama.

The statement also applies to Kapuskasing, as well Superior North, Superior West and centres in Northwestern Ontario.

************************* An upper level disturbance over the area is generating scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.

These storms are expected to remain below severe limits however small hail to 1 centimetre in diameter as well as brief wind gusts to 80 km/h are possible.

Brief torrential downpours are likely as well.

Environment Canada will continue to monitor these storms and issue watches and warnings as required should the storms become more intense than currently expected.
