Sorry, but Superior Family Health has no room for new patients

If you've been dropped as a patient by the Group Health Centre, you won't find a new doctor at the Superior Family Health Team downtown.

The organization, based at 765 Queen St. E., said in a statement this morning that "our physicians are at capacity and/or do not have any open waitlists."

The Superior Family Health Team also encouraged its patients to try to avoid the hospital emergency department and city walk-in clinics because "these resources will be essential in providing care to those who do not have the fortune of being rostered to a physician or nurse practitioner in the community."

Message to our great community:

In light of the recent difficult news of Group Health Centre we at Superior Family Health Team are actively working to provide some assistance and solutions for our community.

However, at this time, our physicians are at capacity and/or do not have any open waitlists. We encourage all patients looking for a family physician to sign up with Health Care Connect, which is our main source for taking new patients.

To those patients already receiving care from the Superior Family Health Team, we ask that you refrain from attending walk-in clinics and the Emergency Department for minor ailments as these resources will be essential in providing care to those who do not have the fortune of being rostered to a physician or nurse practitioner in the community.

We have same day and same week appointments for our patients and hope you try to utilize these.

We are anticipating an increase in call volumes and encourage patients looking for appointments with their provider to leave messages. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we all navigate these challenging circumstances.
