Clayton Maltby is a Hottie.

So is Valerie Nott.

And Terry Barrett, Nicole Sizer, David Kirk and Cindy Adam.

It's not easy being on the SooToday.com $100,000 Hotties List.

First, you've got to figure out how to spend all that cash without being too conspicuous about it, because your fat paycheque is drawn on John Q. Public.

Then, you have to put up with the annual humiliation of having your high-roller income made public each time the Ontario Government releases its Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act listings.

We spent many hours this week, combing through long lists of $100,000 Hotties from across Ontario, trying to nit-pick out all of the Saultbies on the list.

We can't say we found all of them.

It's not easy, because some groups are more secretive than others.

For instance, Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. (which has $100,000 Hotties coming out the wazoo), is really, really, really sensitive about revealing which of its Hotties get to work at corporate headquarters on Foster Drive and which are so unfortunate as to toil at that other place at 4120 Yonge Street in The Big Smoke.

Still, there's a big whack of newly-minted $100,000 Hotties around the Sault this year.

For example, Algoma Public Health has eight brand new Hotties on SooToday.com's 2009 list.

Last year only one person from the health unit - Dr. Allan Northan - made the list. This year, Dr. Northan is joined by his business administrator and seven program directors.

Still in health care, the top earners at Sault Area Hospital are two associate pathologists, followed by Ron Gagnon, SAH's president and chief executive officer .

Last year, Associate Pathologist Bhvbendra Rasaiah pulled down $274,109 while his pathological colleague Paul Mozarowski took in $259,531 plus $972 in taxable benefits.

CEO Gagnon's haul was $258,999 plus $12,326 in taxable benefits.

At City Hall, Chief Administrative Officer Joe Fratesi was the top earner with a salary of $168,044 plus $5,520 in taxable benefits.

Retiring Fire Chief Lynn McCoy earned $140,165 plus $2,753 in taxable benefits in his last full year as fire chief last year.
