ESSAR STEEL ALGOMA

************************* In preparation for the operation of the co-generation steam turbine, Essar Steel Algoma Inc. will perform periodic steam blows on Friday March 20, Saturday March 21 and Sunday March 22 between the hours of 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The blows involve the venting of short bursts of steam which will result in loud auditory blasts, 30 to 60 seconds in duration - similar to a jet flying overhead.

The procedure is required to ensure the steam line is cleaned for use.

All efforts will be made to minimize the number of frequency of steam blows and the procedures will be confined to daytime hours.
